Fashion trailblazer Hubert de Givenchy, famous for designing the famous ‘little black dress’ for Oscar-winning actress Audrey Hepburn dies in his sleep.
Philipe Venet gave a statement announcing the death of the renowned fashion icon and founder of French luxury label ‘House of Givenchy,’ Hubert de Givenchy. He stated that he died in his sleep on Saturday, March 10th. Philipe went further to say that ‘his funeral will be celebrated in the most strict intimacy’
Givenchy is famous for designing the famous ‘little black dress’ for Oscar-winning actress Audrey Hepburn in the movie; Breakfast at Tiffany’s. He became closely affiliated with her in terms of her cinematic style. He was also famous looks for creating pieces for U.S first lady Jackie Kennedy.
He is well known for ladylike, haute couture clothing, accessories, and perfume. The chic designs became a household name globally during a 40-year-old friendship with Audrey Hepburn-a British actress, model, dancer and humanitarian.
Since the 50s, the fashion house has become a firm favorite with the rich and famous who laud his designs for being classy, simple and red carpet worthy. A list celebrities such as Kim Kardashian West, Gal Gadot, Madonna, Margot Robie and a bunch of other stars have been found rocking pieces from Givenchy on the red carpet.
