HOW TO GET RID OF TIRED EYES
Your eyes are the windows to your soul, tired eyes often give you a flushed outlook, mostly due to eye strain or intense use
It is very common to have tired eyes during work hours, after many hours of concentration during which you must keep your eyes open. Staring at a computer, reading, scanning, watching.
The eyelids feel heavy and they begin to droop. Your field of vision narrows as you squint and blink at the screen, trying to stay awake.
Tired eyes are characterized by symptoms like dry eyes, watery eyes, sore or irritated eyes, under-eye puffiness, dark circles, general fatigue, etc.
In addition, the condition can be accompanied by a headache and dizziness. More often than not, tired eyes are caused by factors like inadequate sleep, pollution, excessive crying, poor lighting conditions.
Simple changes in your work habits or environment can usually prevent or reduce eye fatigue:
- Regular eye exercises can help a great deal in preventing as well as treating tired eyes. Frequent blinking, too, is good for your eyes as it replenishes your eyes by keeping them lubricated.
- Get proper sleep, give proper rest to your eyes and do not compromise on getting your 6-8 hours beauty sleep.
- Try to reduce the environmental triggers of your eye allergies; ask your doctor about eye allergy treatments.
- Take frequent breaks from work: step away from your computer or workspace at least once an hour.
- For computer users: try placing the screen 20 – 26 inches away from your eyes and a little below eye level. Regularly clean dust and fingerprints from the screen, and consider using a glare filter over your screen.
- Adjust the lighting in your office or room to find a level that is comfortable for you.
- If you are engaged in close-up work, periodically focusing on a distant object can help your eyes relax.
- Allow your eyes to rest after work.
- Visit your eye doctor regularly to make sure your vision prescription is correct and your eyes are healthy.
