If you missed the maiden edition of TW Empower we really don’t know why. Saturday 25th March 2023 was a remarkable time with phenomenal millennial women as we launched the Today’s Woman empowerment initiative – TW Empower in collaboration with WOW Connect.
About TW Empower: The Millennial Woman
As the leading magazine for women’s information and inspiration across all spheres of life, we saw the need to speak to our audience, particularly the millennial woman. Millennials have been given a bad wrap as a generation forgotten too soon and we wanted to change that. With this idea of hope, inspiration, authenticity and a genuine desire to see YOU flourish, we invited some amazing women to the discussion table. The event also served as our IWD initiative to #EmbraceEquity.
Uche Pedro (Founder/CEO, BellaNaija); Funke Bucknor-Obruthe (Founder/CEO, Zapphire Events); Bola Balogun (Founder/CEO, GlamBrand Agency); Ose Osundeko (CEO, Digitas Media); Blessing Abeng (Co-Founder/CEO, Ingressive For Good) and TW’s Adesuwa Onyenokwe (Life Coach/EiC, Today’s Woman) answered the call to empower millennial women.
The event also had the invaluable support of some amazing sponsors – Stanbic IBTC Bank, FirstBank of Nigeria, Interswitch Group and Chi Limited who not only showed up with amazing support for the attendees but have proven (yet again) that their commitment to women is bankable.
Let’s take a look at what happened at TW Empower 2023.

Sessions
Uche Pedro – You Are The Moment (with Adesuwa Onyenokwe)
If you think you are strong, powerful and in charge, then you are. If you think you’re not, then you aren’t. Uche Pedro shared the story behind building the BellaNaija brand and how she honed in on her unique strengths. She encourages you to do the same!
Uche shows us how to walk like a woman in her power.
Blessing Abeng – The Power of You
You are unique and that is your power – literally. Joining us virtually, branding expert Blessing Abeng gave a unique insight into how to tap int your power. Discovering, refining and effectively using your power are major keys to unearthing your potential. You just have to do the work.
Her session was hosted by Amaka Onyenokwe (TW Lifestyle Contributor) and attendees also got to have first-hand directions in a workbook session to honing their potential.
Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, Bola Balogun & Ose Osundeko – ‘My Career & Me‘
Building a career is not a walk in the park. You deal with a lot of opposition – from family, friends, society and even yourself. And let’s not get started on all the roles women have to play. Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, Ose Osundeko (moderating & speaking) and Bola Balogun shared how they overcame the comforts of a typical life to dream bigger.
Adesuwa Onyenokwe – See It, Be It
In order to become your dream self, you first have to see it. Life Coach and our EiC Adesuwa Onyenokwe gave guests a run down of how to see themselves differently. From the words we tell ourselves to envisioning your dream future – you hold the key to your dream life. You just have to see it to be it.
