Since we’re still in Nigeria’s Independence month, Nigerian food blogger Winifred Emmanuel of Zeelicious Foods is showing us how to make Oha soup that’s finger-licking good.
Tips you may not have known:
- Winnie suggests boiling your palm oil in the stock for about 5-6 minutes. This helps take away the curdling that palm oil often has in some Oha soups have.
- Apparently, some people eat Oha soup with rice. If that’s you, definitely drop a comment.
Okay, now here are the ingredients you’ll need;
- 15 pieces cocoyam
- 1 1/2 cups shredded oha leaves
- 1/2 cup shredded Uziza leaves
- 5 scotch bonnet peppers (Atarodo)
- Cooked chevon (Goat meat)
- Cooked beef cuts
- 1 cup shredded smoked fish
- 1 cup stockfish
- 1/2 cup palm oil
- 1/2 tablespoon Ogiri Igbo
- 1 tablespoon ground crayfish
- 2 crayfish seasoning cubes
- 1/2 tablespoon ground pepper
- 3 cups of meat stock
- Salt
