Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is the “Winner of Winners” for Women’s Prize for Fiction in 25 Years!
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is your Winner of Winners for the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 25 years for her book – Half of a Yellow Sun!
Every 25 years, Women’s Prize for Fiction celebrates a winner of winners with a one-off award that marks the culmination of their year-long 25th-anniversary celebrations. The celebrations also include their #ReadingWomen campaign – championing a quarter of a century of unforgettable winners. Her book prevailed over stellar authors like Zadie Smith, the late Andrea Levy, Lionel Shriver, Ali Smith, Rose Tremain and Maggie O’Farrell, amongst others
Reacting to her win, Chimamanda said – “I’m especially moved to be voted ‘Winner of Winners’ because this is the Prize that first brought a wide readership to my work – and has also introduced me to the work of many talented writers.”
We are excited she’s receiving such an honor. Watch her reaction to the recognition.
To mark the special occasion, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie will be presented a silver edition of the Prize’s annual statuette known as the “Bessie” during a live event. Visit here to find out more.
