DOES A BEAUTY SLEEP REALLY EXIST?
How many hours of beauty sleep do you really need?
To feel refreshed, most people need to sleep 7-9 hours a day. However, many factors can affect one’s individual sleep requirement. How many hours do you specifically need? To determine the ideal quantity, answer the following questions:
- How long does it take you to fall asleep
- Do you need an alarm clock to wake up in the morning?
- How do you feel during the day?
If you are still awake 20 minutes after getting into bed or if you wake up at night, perhaps you should shorten the duration of your sleep. Try going to bed 15 minutes later than usual.
If you fall asleep as soon as your head touches the pillow, you cannot make yourself wake up in the morning, or you feel tired and irritable during the day, try going to bed a little earlier each day until you find your norm.
If you cannot determine your optimal sleep time for you and you don’t feel rested, you should consult a doctor.
