To honor the power couple’s 10th Anniversary, we take a look back at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s relationship

1. When Beyoncé and Jay Z met

In a 2007 interview Jay Z said he met Beyoncé 10 years ago, and in a separate interview, Beyoncé said they met when she was 18, which would make the time they first locked eyes in 1999/2000. So we’ll put it at some time between 1997-2000.

2. In 2004, the couple made their first appearance as a couple at the VMAs.

The VMA’s, 2004 was a moment we will always remember.Beyoncé and Jay Z turned up to the event together, arm in arm, and confirmed what everyone already knew.They were dating yaayyyyy!!!

3. April 4th, 2008 they got hitched!

Jay and Bey got married in a top-secret, super-intimate ceremony on April 4th in a ceremony held at  Jay-Z’s 13,500-sq.-ft. Manhattan penthouse and decorated with 70,000 dendrobium orchids flown in from Thailand.

While the pair kept their marriage under wraps at first, Beyoncé later opened up about their nuptials — and their relationship leading up to the big day.

4. In 2010, Beyoncé suffered a miscarriage.

Beyoncé spoke about a painful time in her documentary ‘Life Is But A Dream’  She opened up about suffering a miscarriage. In her words, “About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time. And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life… I picked out names…,envisioned what my child would look like… I was feeling very maternal.., flew back to New York to get my check up – and no heartbeat.”

5. The moment Beyoncé announced they were pregnant at the 2011 MTV VMAs

Who can forget the moment after  Beyoncé performed ‘Love On Top,’ She popped open her sparkly, purple blazer and rubbed her never-seen-before pregnant belly as everyone cheered, and Jay Z watched from the side. The Guinness Book Of World Records said the announcement broke the record for the “most tweets per second recorded for a single event” as 8,868 tweets per second.

 6.7th January 2012 when Blue Ivy was born.

Jay Z and Beyoncé’s baby girl was born in early 2012, and a while later Beyoncé shared a first photo (the first anyone had seen of Blue Ivy) on her website. The couple said in a statement: “We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love, and support.”

7.The Solange & Jay-z elevator fiasco

The world almost came to a standstill when footage was released of Solange attacking Jay-Z in an elevator whilst Beyoncé stood motionless whilst leaving the Met Gala.

A joint statement released read: “They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family… We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.

8. In April 2016, Beyoncé dropped ‘Lemonade’

This album fuelled Jay-z’s infidelity rumors and the internet was livid! Everyone wondered why he could have a wife like her and still cheat.

Jay-Z later released an album called ‘4:44’ and in a song titled ‘Family Feud’, he appeared to publicly apologize for cheating on Beyonce

9.Beyonce ‘broke’ the internet with pictures of their twins on Instagram.

In February 2017, Beyoncé uploaded a photo on Instagram announcing that Blue would be expecting two new siblings and this broke the internet into a million pieces as it quickly became the most liked photo on Instagram EVER.

The twins, Sir & Rumi carter finally arrived and made a debut on Instagram one month after their birth. The picture was named the ‘most liked’ Instagram picture of 2017, currently has over 11 million likes on the photo-sharing website.

10.JAY-Z and Beyoncé announce ‘On The  Run II’ Tour for 2018.

After rumors began circulating, JAY-Z and Beyonce announced they’d be heading out on a joint tour. They will be hitting the UK in June 2018. Called ‘On The Run II’, this is the pair’s first tour together since 2014.
