We Think You’re Not Drinking Enough Water – Here’s Why & How to!

How to drink more water

The truth is, you might be dehydrated and not even know it. In this post, we are not only going to prove that you probably don’t drink enough water but show you how to drink more water.

Here are some things you should know;

Being attentive to the amount of water you drink each day is important for optimal health. Most people only drink when they’re thirsty, which barely ever happens and this leaves them drinking only 2-3 cups of water daily. According to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, the adequate daily fluid intake is:
• about 15.5 cups of water (125 ounces) each day for men
• about 11.5 cups (91 ounces) daily for women

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine added that people get about 20 percent of their daily water intake from food. The rest is dependent on drinking water and water-based beverages. So, ideally, men would consume about 100 ounces (3.0 litres) of water from beverages, and women, about 73 ounces (2.12 litres) from beverages.

However, you might have to increase your water intake if you’re exercising or living in a hotter region to avoid dehydration.

It is very important you drink enough water daily because it helps to ensure your body functions optimally. Water is also highly imperative to other functions of the body.

• Drinking water helps to flush out waste from your body.
• Water protects your tissues, spinal cord, and joints.
• Intake of water helps regulate your body temperature.
