Materials needed

  • Soap
  • Water
  • Leather cream
  • Soft napkin
  • Rubbing alcohol

Generally, the only regular maintenance your leather chairs need is a good dusting with a dry cloth every once in a while usually on Saturdays as many believes that’s general sanitation day. Some households may apply leather cream on a monthly basis to keep the material soft and moisturized. Here is a step by step outline of how to keep your chair moisturized:

  • Start with water and a little soap: to tackle mild stains, dip a clean damp cloth in warm soapy water and use it to thoroughly wipe stains or dust that may have settled on the chair. It is advised to look for a specific leather soap called saddle soap if not go with a good bar soap you think can do the trick.
  • Dry thoroughly: with another dry napkin, dry the chair till you can see that mildews are out of sight. For best results, leave chair for 5 minutes then come back to check if any dews are left.
  • Apply leather cream: re-moisturize the chair by applying the leather cream with a clean cloth. Let it sink in, then buff to shine if like.

Note: the rubbing alcohol was added to material needed, should there be any though stains on the chair. If however you have though stains on the chair, apply a little rubbing alcohol to a cotton bud and apply only on the affected area.
