THE ‘WE’ IN WIN

THE ‘WE’ IN WIN

This morning at 7am, Oby Ezekwesili took to twitter to announce her stepping down from the presidential race. Her announcement has garnered a lot of mixed reactions from Nigerians giving room for backroom talk, raising questions on her bravery and integrity.

Reading through her twitter posts, the former ACPN candidate goes on to explain how her stepping down from the race is in an effort to fight the ‘powers that be’ that have held on to Nigeria for so long. She further explains that the minority parties whom have all been campaigning individually have decided to form a coalition, following Saturday’s disaster of a presidential candidates’ debate, to combine their strengths and push one viable candidate to help save ‘a country in bondage.’

In our last edition, Oby makes it clear that WE are in the race to win, “It’s going to be the Nigerian people winning, because for the first time, Nigerian people will mobilize themselves behind a candidate that cares about the nation and people, and caring about the nation and its people is the real politics.”

Now more than ever, it has become apparent this woman has nothing but the progress and unity of Nigeria as a whole in her heart; putting aside personal glory for the good of her motherland. Her methods might have changed, but her motives definitely haven’t.
