She has taken baby steps the last four years since the age of 9, making the case for the education of Africa’s Girl Child, while telling Africa’s positive story via compelling documentaries to the rest of the world. Along the way, she has sat down with 1 in 6 of Africa’s 54 Presidents & Prime Ministers to make her case personally, and appeared on Global TV network platforms such as BBC, CNN, CNBC and Bloomberg TV.
Earlier in September, she taught children at an IDP Camp in Abuja, and donated books to the Makoko Slum 2 School project, in Lagos where she spent time with the children. But she wanted to do more. In line with this, she gathered some across society, and just launched her Foundation in Lagos, aimed at allowing her develop strong partnerships that would allow her support the education of more Girls across Africa, starting with Nigeria.
The simple but elegant event recently, was attended by many, including Genevieve Nnaji, and leadership representatives and guest speakers from the Edo State First Lady’s Office to the US Ambassadors office. Others in attendance include Hon Abike Dabiri Erewa, Mrs. Kay Ovia [wife of Zenith Bank Chairman], President of Dangote Foundation, and dozens of school children across Lagos.
It is the second time Nollywood royalty has attended her event. Last year when she premiered her first movie for the big screen, it was attended by arguably Nigeria’s biggest film producer – Kunle Afolayan, Ambassadors and many across the business community.
