Ambode Dissolves Boards of Parastatals, Agencies | ThisDay
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, monday dissolved all boards of parastatals and agencies of government in the state, which signalled the beginning of the strategic reforms the governor promised in his inauguration speech.
The decision was contained in a statement signed his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna, stating that the dissolution “takes immediate effect,” though the reason for the decision was not stated.
The governor, however, disclosed that the Civil Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission and the State Independent Electoral Commission “are exempted.”
Ambode commended the modest input, which he acknowledged, had been made by the members of the dissolved boards, thereby wishing them well in their future endeavours.

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, yesterday, said Nigerians who are non card-carrying members of party were likely to serve as ministers in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Oyegun also said that he was not interested in the office of the Secretary to Government of Federation, SGF, as being speculated in different quarters. According to APC National chairman, Buhari’s government and APC as a political party were more concerned with assembling technocrats and other competent hands who would key into the vision and objectives of the present government.

Top al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) leader Nasir al-Wuhayshi has died in a drone strike. Al-Wuhayshi was the No. 2 leader of al Qaeda globally and the head of AQAP.
Two Yemeni national security officials told CNN that al-Wuhayshi was killed Friday in a suspected U.S. drone strike in Yemen’s Hadramout region. A few hours later, the militant group itself confirmed the death.
