The deadly Ebola Virus Disease, which raged in some African countries, including Nigeria in 2014, has staged a comeback in the northwestern part of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
There are two confirmed cases of the virus in the affected area and 17 deaths where it is suspected, the health ministry said on Tuesday.
The incident comes more than a year after an outbreak in the country killed four people, BBC reports.
The last outbreak in west Africa killed more than 11,000 people.
To this end, The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has taken preventive measures at airports to stop Ebola from entering the country following a fresh outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
