Kambili is the story of an irresponsible, spoiled, spendthrift 28-year-old woman who’s turning 29 in a few days. The only thing on her mind is to get married before she turns 30. However, after getting suspended from work due to her incessant lateness, she goes on a date with her boyfriend and he breaks up with her, dashing her hopes of getting married before 30. She decides that what she needs to do is prove to her boyfriend that she can be everything he wants her to be, which is; responsible, driven, focused and wife material.
Kambili is the first movie created by FilmOne Entertainment on the $1 million film fund it launched with China’s Huahua Media and South Africa’s Empire Entertainment in December. Kambili is the first of what FilmOne co-founder Moses Babatope expects to be a slate of 8 -10 films that the fund will co-finance. The FilmOne team comprises West Africa’s most recognized professionals in film distribution, production, marketing, and general consulting, with combined experience spanning over 50 years, gained from the United Kingdom, United States of America and Nigeria.

“If Nancy Isime decided to sell all her belongings to make this movie, it would have been worth it. If nobody has successfully staked this claim yet, then it’s hers. She just might be the new Rom Com Queen. She was in her element and it fit her like a glove. Kayode Kasum also gets major props too as it’s clear he understands this field pretty well. The Soundtracks and theme songs were about 95% on point. The cast members were on their game. The movie deserves the accolades!” – Shola Thompson.
The movie will be released in cinemas nationwide on Friday 16th October 2020.
