In March, we had the opportunity to celebrate a remarkable group of women – the women of MAVIN. The powerhouse entertainment brand is most notable for churning out some of Africa’s biggest musical talents like Tiwa Savage, Iyanya, Wande Coal, Dr Sid, and more recently Ayra Starr, Rema, Johnny Drille, Ladipoe, Crayon, Magixx and Boy Spyce. For March, however, we did a twist, took our lens away from the stars and decided to focus on the star makers – the women who make the wheels at MAVIN go round.
Our cover stars, Ifeoma “Wall Street” Okonkwo, Rima “The Factory” Tahini, and Jennifer “The Fixer” Imion are not just our focus for this special issue, but just a few of the amazing women who work with the MAVIN brand. Ifeoma, Rima & Jennifer are 3 of the top-level women at MAVIN named the ‘Star Makers’.
For this issue, we speak to them on women’s rights in the workplace, what it takes to become a Star – the MAVIN way, what makes MAVIN tick and more. We also speak to other females at MAVIN with some fun facts about them.
This issue is definitely a bevvy of inspiration, motivation and self-empowerment if we do say so ourselves. It’s definitely worth your read!
