If you’re new to the soup world, Ogbono is a Nigerian delicacy that has found a home in many households. It has a slimy consistency and that can sometimes put people off, but trust us, it’s yummy in every bite.
Ogbono soup is typically enjoyed with swallow i.e eba, fufu, amala etc and sometimes with staples like rice (don’t judge).
And today you’re going to be learning how to make your very own pot of it, or at least learning a new way to do it.
Here are the ogbono soup recipe ingredients you’ll need;
1 cup ground ogbono
3/4 cup hot palm oil
Cooked Goat Meat
Cooked Beef
Cooked Shaki (Tripe)
Cooked Kpomo (Cow Skin)
5 red scotch bonnet peppers
5 yellow scotch bonnet peppers
1 large onion bulb
3 garlic cloves
1 cup shredded stockfish
1 cup shredded dry fish
Opeyi (optional)
2 crayfish seasoning cubes
1 tablespoon ground crayfish
7 cups beef stock or water
1/2 tablespoon ground pepper
1 1/2 cups chopped okra
1 cup chopped pumpkin leaves
1/2 cup shredded uziza leaves
Salt to taste
