Skincare Guide for Beginners: Here’s What You Need to Know!

Skincare Guide for Beginners

If you’re looking for a skincare guide for beginners, you have come to the right place. Skincare has become such an important part of self-grooming that you basically can’t ignore it. So let’s help you get started on your routine.

Skincare Guide for Beginners

Hydration! SPF! Salicylic Acid! Retinol! These words have pretty much bulldozed their way into the skincare world. And if you’re a newbie who just wants those annoying pimples off, it can get really overwhelming to determine what you should do to have healthy skin. Now, don’t get me wrong. You will at some point learn these languages, but to start things off, it’s best to keep it simple. That’s why I took it upon myself to give a little expose on getting skincare for beginners without developing migraine in the process. Shall we begin?

Before you dive in, however, there are a few things you need to become acquainted with;

  • Know your skin. You may have heard this a number of times, but it’s super important. A particular product may perform wonders for one person, giving them that Jackie Aina glow, but it doesn’t mean it would do the same for you. So, before you run off to the beauty supply store to get the latest moisturizer, you need to have some kind of understanding about your skin.
  • Know what skin issues you have. Once you’ve got a hang of what your skin problem may be; dryness, acne, discolouration and so on, it becomes easy to determine what products you should go near or flee from.

Now, there are a few basic things to consider when starting off on your skincare journey and I’m going to talk a bit on that. Three major things you cannot afford to sleep on are – Cleansers, Toners and Moisturizers!

Cleansers

Cleansers can literally make or break your skincare routine. If you are the risk-averse type, I’d advise you to settle on some natural products with little or no major chemical agent in them.

Toners

These have a way of revitalizing and hydrating your skin after you have cleansed thoroughly. Rosewater is an all-time favourite and it’s natural too!

Moisturizers

Moisturizers can be a bit tricky to figure out, but two brands I highly respect for their mild moisturizers are Nivea and Clearasil. You can research them to know the best one for your particular skin situation.

Products are highly important in skincare but do not forget the power of routine. Once you have these down, you can then afford to experiment with some other products such as serums eye creams and the likes.

We hope this helps with your journey to amazing skincare. Keep us in the loop.
