All is set for the fourth edition of the much anticipated AFRICA’s NAIL ART COMPETITION proudly organised by Nectar Beauty Academy.

The event aims at developing and appreciating existing talents in the beauty industry.

The maiden edition was held year in Oct. 2015. Renowned beauty expert and representative of the L’Oréal Active Cosmetic Division Beauty Beatrice Eneh founded Africa’s Nail Art Competition due to her passion for empowering individuals in the Beauty Industry. Over the years, more than four thousand nail technicians submit entries that get vetted and presented to judges who decide the eventual winners.

Winners are treated fabulously and empowered to become entrepreneurs and educators in the Beauty industry. This life-changing experience is the inspiration to make the 4th edition even bigger and better!

The top 20 finalists stand a chance to win – A trophy for (1st – 3rd Positions), cash prizes, hampers & lots of other exciting giveaways. The top 50 applicants will receive free skills acquisition/training.

Date – 29th of November – 1st of December 2022
Venue – Landmark Center, plot 2 & 3 Water Corporation Road, Victoria Island Lagos, Nigeria
Time – 10 am to 4 pm daily.

ENTRY & PARTICIPATION IS FREE!

Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email on or before the 25th of November, 2022. All Participants are to bring two models for each day. Free training for shortlisted candidates and other invited Nail Technicians will hold from 1.30pm to 2.30pm on the 29th and 30th of November.

MEET THE 2022 JUDGES

Lanre Da Silva Ajayi

Lanre Da Silva Ajayi (LDA) is the founder of the eponymous design label. In seventeen years, her passion for fashion has gotten stronger, making the label a fashion favourite among the media, celebrities and fashion lovers.

The LDA brand has showcased locally and internationally including the ThisDay Africa Rising Festival, London and South Africa; the New York Couture Fashion Week; the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week; London Fashion Week; the Pitti Immagine Florence; Vogue Talent Milan; Project Women Las Vegas and GTBank Fashion Weekend, to mention a few.

LDA has been featured in various African and international media, including L’Uomo Vogue, Vogue Black, ARISE Magazine, Daily Mail, Essence.com, Fashion Bomb.com, Zimbio.com, WWD.com, ITN News, CNN, NTN24.com, ABCNews.com, Reuters UK and Centric/BET.

Lanre holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Coventry University and a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Leicester.

Linda Edozien

Linda Edozien is the founder, MD/CEO of Barazahi Limited. Having successfully completed several courses in skincare and beauty including the London School of Beauty (United Kingdom), Linda was able to raise the necessary capital to create a haven which is one of the most respected spas in the country.

For the last 11 years, under the leadership of Linda, Barazahi has remained at the forefront of Skincare and beauty and has consistently been in the top five Spas in Nigeria. In recognition of its prolonged success, Barazahi has been sought after and aligned itself to international brands such as Biologique Recherche, a well-known and very successful French skincare company of over 40 years’ of experience.

Linda is well experienced in corporate Nigeria and is a member of several boards, notably Setana Energy, an oil, oil products and gas supply trading company serving Nigeria and West Africa. She also sits on the board of UNIVEST Nigeria, a successful property and trading company with significant global investments.

Linda is the founder of The Barazahi Foundation, which has a specific focus on medical aid and education for the less privileged in Nigeria. She holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Bradford, an MBA from Middlesex University, and a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing all in England.

 

Olga Senina

Olga Senina is a certified international nail specialist from Russia with 14 years of experience in nail grooming. Olga was the 3rd Runner up at the First Edition of African Nail Competition organised by Beatrice Eneh in 2015 and has since then impacted the Nail industry by Training a lot of Nigerians in Lagos. Olga is the first nail specialist to introduce “KERATIN NAIL EXTENSION” to Nigeria. Olga is a pacesetter for aspiring nail technicians in the nail tech world. She won an award at the Africa Nail Competition and has appeared on several online blogs and broadcasts to share her knowledge on ”Nail Grooming and Polygel Nails with Olga” on TV stations, including Silverbird TV’s popular show, “Beauty tryouts”

Dayo Samuel

Dayo Samuel is one of Nigeria’s best artistic nail technicians who has shown distinct talent. He has trained so many technicians who have progressed to become entrepreneurs. He is the CEO of DayoSamuels Nails Located at Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos, Nigeria. He is well known for his design and flawless skills in extremely long nail extensions and very passionate about the nail industry.

 

Olga Kotova

Olga Kotova is an international certified specialist with over 7 years’ experience in the beauty industry. She participated in international competitions in Ukraine and Belarus and has been a previous Judge in the past Editions of Africa’s Nail Art Competition. She is an expert in nail care and nail extensions and in Nigeria had her first entry into working in an African Beauty industry at Apples and Oranges Total Body Therapy and now works at the Mom and I Salon and Spa. Finalists will be excited to have Olga as a judge again and her expert advice during the training sessions.

Olutayo Adebowale Odeyemi

Olutayo Adebowale Odeyemi is an indigene of Osun state and has been in the nail industry for 7years. He is the most recent winner of Africa’s Nail Art competition and is returning this year as a Judge to hand over the baton to the anticipated winner in the 2022 Edition of Africa’s Nail Art Competition. Tayo is extremely passionate about the nail industry and is a beneficiary of the rewards obtained from winning Africa’s Nail Art Competition.

 

Meet the Convener, Beatrice Eneh

Beatrice Eneh is an Entrepreneur with global experience working with multinationals across multiple industries. She holds an MEng from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) and an MBA from Lancaster University Management School (UK) and has founded many companies and sits on various boards.

Her passion for the Beauty Industry & Expertise in Distribution and Supply Chain Optimization has made her the preferred Partner for Multiple International Brands. A platform which she has used to ensure that training and technical skills from Multinational Beauty Brands are transferred to individuals across the continent.

Key achievements include the training and empowerment of over 1200 individuals in the Beauty Industry, manufacturing of a globally distributed product line with ingredients sourced from Africa and, more recently, championing the Go-to-Market Plan for the Launch of L’Oréal Active Cosmetic Division in Nigeria for Cerave and La Roche-Posay brands.

She is the CEO/Founder of Nectar Beauty Hub, Apples and Oranges Total Body Therapy, Ricks and Clare Solutions, and Nectar Beauty Academy. She also had a majority shareholding of the Somma Professional Products manufactured in Chicago and distributed globally.

Beatrice Eneh is a member of the American Society for Women Engineers, Steering Committee Run for Cure Africa (RFCA), MIT Supply Chain Club, and Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), Professional Beauty Association of America (PBA) and the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
