Muhammadu Buhari Sworn In A Nigeria’s President After Historic Electoral Win

Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in as Nigeria’s new head of state today – May 29, in a ceremony at The Eagle Square, Abuja which mixed military pomp with cultural tradition after he made history as the first opposition victory over a sitting president.
The 72-year-old took the oath of office before the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Supreme Court President Mahmoud Mohammed, to begin a four-year term.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was also sworn in at the same ceremony. They were both accompanied by their wives.
