Saraki Celebrates A Polio-free Nigeria | This DAY

Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, monday congratulated Nigerians on the observance of 365 days of free poliomyelitis (Polio) in the country at the weekend.

Saraki, according to a statement by Chuks Okocha, his Special Assistant on Print Media, said the successes recorded in Nigeria on Polio eradication in the last 365 days without a single case of the virus was a product of relentless hard work by Nigeria’s partners, religious and community leaders as well as health workers.

A renowned diplomat, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, Monday, counselled President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to bring together all major stakeholders in economic management in order to brainstorms on ways to revive the nation’s ailing economy.

Professor Gambari spoke in Abuja, just as the Human Rights Lawyer, Chief Femi Falana, SAN, observed that the decision of the Federal Government to limit the investigation of corruption cases to the Jonathan Administration cannot be justified in law.

A Fake Apple raided in China | BBC

A factory which allegedly made up to 41,000 fake Apple iPhones has been raided in China, with nine arrests.

The operation reportedly involved “hundreds” of workers repackaging second hand smartphone parts as new iPhones for export, with counterfeit phones produced worth 120m yuan ($19m).

Buhari to APC Reps: obey party’s directive on offices | The Nation

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday reiterated his stand on the National Assembly’s leadership crisis. The party’s position is supreme, he told members of the troubled House of Representatives. Buhari is said to have told the lawmakers: “Obey the party.”

The main actors in the crisis appeared to be ready for peace.  That was the feeler after a meeting the All Progressives Congress (APC) House members held with the President ended in a deadlock.
