Nigeria’s presidential election is exactly 19 days away. And so is valentine’s day. For obvious reasons, the celebrations this year have taken a back seat to the Presidential elections but you should still plan to make the day memorable with your boyfriend or husband.

The planned events for valentine’s day that we would have normally begun to hear about already, seem to have gone mute also. Hence, here are seven things you and your significant other could still do to make the special day perfect after you both have cast your votes.

1) Surprise him.

A surprise never gets old! And he most likely won’t be expecting anything from you this year in particular, increasing the surprise effect. Take him to dinner or the movies, that will not only take his mind off worrying about the outcome of the elections but it will also be a nice introduction to a very romantic evening.

2) Offer to do everything on that day.

Offer to do everything that you can do for him on that day. In fact, do everything but vote for him on that day

3) Dress up

Dress up as much as possible to make the day feel extra special. Even if you are just going to the polling booth with him, look as attractive as you can.

4) Remember to tell him, I love you.

It’s easy to get caught up with everything going on daily that you most likely, forget to tell your husband or boyfriend you love him as much as you should. That is okay-ish. Life tends to just happen and it’s natural to forget to to say ‘I love you’ to the person you love the most in the world. However, on this one day, ensure, to say it as much as you can.

5) Let the whole day revolve around him

Every man has an ego. Feed his to it’s heart content on the 14th of February 2015. Enough said.
