HOW TO MAKE POUNDED YAM WITH A YAM PROCESSOR

POUNDED YAM

Everyone likes actual pounded yam, but nobody wants to do the time!

POUNDED YAMIf you are tired of eating poundo yam but can’t afford to expend so much energy into pounding boiled yam smoothly with a mortar and pestle then, we have a kitchen trick for you!

To achieve a great texture and smooth consistency, you should avoid removing the yam slices from the pot while you set up the food processor, this will make the insides of the yam dry out.

Also, do not cut the yam slices too small to avoid sogginess and refrain from putting too much water.

All you need is a food processor, it takes at most 25 minutes to make pounded yam using a food processor.

  1. Attach the dough blade to the food processor and turn the heat to low.
  2. Allow the yam to continue boiling while you pick a few slices depending on the size, and place in the food processor.
  3. Cover your bowl, then turn the control dial to maximum.
  4. Keep the engine running at maximum, watch the yam turn into grains like garri before pulling itself together into a dough.
  5. Allow it to run for a few seconds longer before you stop it, open the bowl and scoop out your pounded yam wrapped around the blade. Those who like soft pounded yam can add a little hot water with the yam slices before covering the bowl.

You can now sit back and enjoy this yummy goodness with any soup of your choice!
