LAGOS STATE RELEASES STATEMENT ON TANKER EXPLOSION ON OTEDOLA BRIDGE
The Lagos State Government has released a statement sympathizing with the families of those who lost their lives in the tanker explosion on Otedola Bridge.
About 30 vehicles were reportedly burnt to ashes after a tanker exploded on the bridge yesterday.
Rescue agencies have been able to put out the fire.
Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has visited the scene of the tragic accident that happened along the Otedola axis of Lagos/Ibadan expressway.
Ambode wrote, ‘very sad day. The loss of lives in an accident like today is very painful. My prayers are with the everyone affected by this tragedy’.
On behalf of the Lagos State Government, we extend our deepest commiseration to the families of persons who lost their lives as well as properties to the incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with them in this time of pain and grief.
As a government, we would not relent in putting measures in place to ensure the safety of lives and property of all residents.
Our deepest condolence goes out to everyone who has been affected by this unfortunate incident.
