Stigma of Sexual Abuse

The weekend seems to have dragged itself into the week as the topic of sexual abuse and rape have held on to our tongues and keyboards. Sexual abuse is a very sensitive issue that requires patience to understand, and the will to act.
Comedienne and actress, Wofai Fada, shares her opinion and experience with the topic in question.

Can we say the majority of these rape and abuse cases are predominant because parents especially mothers don’t have a bond with their daughters?
Has ‘religion’ brain-washed us so badly that we can hardly see the light nor the truth when it’s staring at us in the face?
We have heard of sexual abuse victims who had the courage to speak up and tell their mothers only for their own mothers to think they were being possessed!
What happened to mothers and their 6th sense becoming super active when something isn’t right with their children?
This is a serious issue we need to tackle because it will go a long way in saving our children from the societal menace of sexual abuse.
What steps are best for parents to take when they suspect their child is being abused or when a child comes to them to say, “someone touched me?”
Put your comments below and let’s hear your thoughts.
