Rivers Election Result: INEC declares Wike winner (Vanguard Newspaper)
Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Barr Nyesom Wike has been declared winner of last Saturday’s governorship election in Rivers state, polling a total of 1,029,102 votes amounting to 87.77 percent to beat Dr Dakuku Peterside of the All Progressives Congress, APC who had 124,896 votes amounting to 10.65 percent to come a distant second.

The Lagos State Governor-elect, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has called on the PDP governorship candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje and others who contested against him to join hands with his administration to build the state.

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has set out for a tour of key states, at the start of her campaign to become the first woman US president. She is taking a road trip to meet small groups of voters in Iowa, having announced her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination on Sunday. She had been expected to declare her candidacy for months.
Mrs Clinton ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008 but lost to Barack Obama.
