According to the report on Punch Newspaper by Olusola Fabiyi, Friday Olokor and Olalekan Adetayo, the Council of State may be discussing the postponement of the elections at their meeting on Thursday, the 5th of February, 2015.

The council consists of the President, the Vice-President, all former Heads of State, all former Chief Justices of Nigeria, the President of the Senate, all state governors and the Attorney-General of the Federation.

There have been rumours about the reschedule of the February 14, elections and calls to postpone based on the security situation of the country and claims that registered voters have not been able to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card. Others have insisted that the elections go as planned claiming that those clamouring for its postponement have hidden agendas.

INEC has gone on to say that the election will still go on as scheduled but we guess the final decision will be known after the meeting tomorrow.
