VP, Dickson, Kachikwu meet over renewed militant’s attacks on pipelines – The Guardian

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday held two separate meetings ‎over the recent blowing up of pipelines conveying crude oil and gas and threatening the operations of two of the nation’s refineries and power plants.

The militants had attacked Chevron’s Okan offshore production platform around Escravos in Warri, Delta State, a development that led to the shutdown of the facility by the oil major.

N4bn campaign funds: Falae firm’s account frozen, Fani-Kayode detained – Punch

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has frozen the bank account of a company belonging to a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, The PUNCH has learnt.

It was gathered that the account with the United Bank for Africa titled Marecco Nigeria Limited with number 1000627022, was frozen as part of investigations into the N4bn disbursed by the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation during the build-up to the 2015 presidential election.

Militants plan fresh bomb attacks – Vanguard

Rampaging militant group, Niger-Delta Avengers,NDA, said, yesterday, it had concluded plans to attack installations in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Calabar. This came as soldiers also, yesterday, invaded Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State and home base of ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo.

Philippines’ likely president Duterte vows to be ‘dictator’ against evil- CNN

Firebrand mayor Rodrigo Duterte, who is set to clinch the Philippines’ presidency, said he will be a “dictator” against evil and vowed to step down in six months if he failed to fulfill his promise to stamp out corruption.

“I will be strict. I will be a dictator, no doubt it. But only against forces of evil — criminality, drugs and corruption in government,” Duterte said Tuesday morning in his hometown of Davao City, in the southern Philippines.

Germany knife attacker kills man in Grafing – BBC

One man was killed and three others wounded by a man wielding a knife east of Munich and police are investigating a possible Islamist connection.

The man attacked four commuters shortly before 05:00 (03:00 GMT) on Tuesday at Grafing station. One of the victims died of his wounds in hospital.

A 27-year-old man was eventually overpowered by police and arrested.
