Interview With Vita Tree Nutritionals

Dr. Janine pic with carrots and apple

Due to the growing amount of terminal diseases and serious health conditions, it has become pertinent to find alternative ways to be healthy. Our writer, Oma Ehiri, sat down with the founder and formulator of VitaTree- a whole food Canadian company that recently launched in Nigeria, Dr. Janine Bowring.

What informed your decision to become a naturopathic doctor?

I lost my mum to cancer when I was 19 and it affected me physically, emotionally, spiritually and even medically. My mum was 50 when she passed on but while she was alive, she was reading a book on natural medicine and healing the body with whole foods. This made me think about how important it is to heal ourselves naturally which informed my decision to become a naturopathic doctor.

VitaTree has been doing well in North America. Why did you take interest in Nigeria?

Like North Americans, Nigerians are very accustomed to visiting the doctor for every ailment that they encounter. Unfortunately, the prescriptions given by the doctors are usually synthetically and chemically driven. We decided to introduce Nigerians to a natural way of taking care of their health and the only available way to do so at the moment is through VitaTree products.

Tell us about VitaTree Products.

VitaTree products are natural food supplements that help prevent diseases and also help to maintain a healthy lifestyle. One product that is extremely important to Nigerians is the VitaDetox. Due to the high rate of toxicity in the environment, it is of utmost importance to detoxify our internal organs. Other detox programmes concentrate only on the digestive system but the VitaDetox takes care of all body systems and people absolutely love the effects. After taking it, you will feel more energetic. Your digestive system will work better, and headaches will be gone. Your skin will also begin to glow. Another key information to note about our products is that, our capsules are not plastic. They are derived from tree barks called hypo melos. It dissolves completely and breaks down very quickly.

Could this be a substitute for medications?

We recommend that people seek appropriate medical advice but as a naturopathic doctor, we prescribe only natural substances. VitaTree products replace the conventional medicine without the negative side effects of pharmaceutical drugs and that is the key distinction. For instance, VitaMucil, derived from plant steroids, lowers cholesterol levels, which can be used in combination with or as a substitute for conventional medicine.

What makes Vita tree different from other supplements in the market?

There are no product food supplements like VitaTree because all our products come directly from nature. We use the best scientifically proven ingredients and inculcate my personal and clinical experiences from working with patients over the years.

How can Nigerians know what supplements are best for them?

We maintain a close relationship with all of our customers via our online platform and we train all of our distributors. If you have specific questions, which we always encourage that you ask, we’ll recommend what combination of VitaTree products to use to meet your needs.

Tell us about some of the experiences you have recorded?

There are quite a lot but there is one particular woman who heard about our product on television in Canada. She had a history of constipation and cancer. In fact, her husband died of cancer despite using the conventional treatment. She was declared cancer-free after using our products.

Nigerians particularly in Lagos are usually stressed from all the hustle and bustle of the city. What can we recommend for them?

I recommend the VitaFruits and VitaVeggies. They were the first products that we developed and they contain strong antioxidants. They are sourced from different fruits all over the world and takes care of the free radicals that are in the environment that bring down our body. Nigerians are not known to eat enough fruits and vegetables and the VitaFruits and VitaVeggies ensure you get 7 servings of fruits daily. This gives you the boost of energy and helps to combat stress during the day.

What about people who have aches and pains?

We recommend the VitaJoints and the VitaFishOil for such people. VitaJoint is a natural painkiller while the VitaFishOil is anti-inflammatory and it is directly from fish oil. It doesn’t have a fishy taste and it is very good for the children as well.

There seems to be an increasing rate of infertility even amongst young people. What can be done to prevent this?

Hyperthyroidism

The rates are rising now because of the toxins in the environment and the imbalance in our hormones. If you don’t address these issues, particularly the toxins in the liver, then infertility starts to happen. Every woman needs to take the VitaDetox.

What is the proper way to do a detox?

You do not need to do a radical change of your diet because we understand that, that could be very difficult. All you do is take 2 tablets daily for 60 days and then take a break for 4 weeks. You can do this periodically throughout the year. It’s really easy.

What products can be recommended to lose weight?

The VitaDetox, FatBurner and the VitaMucil. The FatBurner works even when you do not work out but we still encourage our consumers to. It increases your internal burning fibres and gives you a better workout session.

Can one take the entire range of products at once?

Yes, you can. Think of them as food not as food substitutes. The only product that we not advise our clients not to mix with others is the VitaMucil. You just need to take it with a big glass of water; it helps to cleanse the intestinal wall and regulates bowel movement.

How affordable are the products?

Our products are not the most expensive but certainly not the least expensive. However, when you think of the standards that are put into cognizance to get the products certified by health Canada and now NAFDAC, they are worth the price.
