4 Foods To Give Your System A Boost

Fruits-and-Vegetables

In recent times, many have taken to the consumption of pills as food supplements to make up for their diet. I am guilty of that as I find myself relying on some of these pills to give me what I think I cannot get from my daily diet. However from today onwards I am taking inspiration from nutritionist, Sarah Flower who has called for us to swap these pills for vitamin rich foods.

She mentioned four classes of foods that can aid our nutrition and we have done a bit of research to help you have ideas on what kind of foods go into each of those classes.

Oily Fish

This class of food contains a lot of omega 3 acid which is good in reducing the risk of heart diseases. In it, you find small forage fish like sardines, mackarel, tuna and salmon.

Whole grains

Whole grains are refined grains that can be gotten from any food made from wheat, rice, oats, cornmeal, barley or cereal. So, you can have your corn flakes, fruit and fibre, quaker oats, golden morn and the likes. This also includes pasta and bread. This will help reduce a number of chronic diseases like diabetes, stroke, heart diseases and obesity.

This is an important nutrient to your body and a good dose of it can be gotten from meat, fish, chicken, eggs, diary foods, beans, soy beans, nuts and seeds. By nuts and seeds, you can add groundnuts, almond butters and corn. Tofu falls under soy foods just incase you love that. Lean protein helps to fill you up easily and is a good choice if you are trying to maintain your weight. It also helps to boost your energy.

Fruits and Vegetables

This is one of the most healthy part of nutrition as they are naturally low in fat, sodium and calories with absolutely no cholesterol. some of the fruits and vegetables we can readily get include oranges, coconuts, apples, pineapples, tomatoes, berries, walnuts, water melon, pumpkins, avocados, cucumber, cabbage, onions, carrots.
