NIGERIAN TEAM SEND FORTH FOR THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD WINTER GAMES AUSTRIA 2017

Today March 9th 2017, Special Olympics Nigeria organized a Media Send Forth for the 22 athletes representing Nigeria at the World Winter Games in Austria commencing March 2017.

The event, which took place at Vigeo Holdings, Ikoyi marked the high point of the athletes’ preparations for the World Winter Games as they are set to compete in unusual sports like floor hockey and floorball. Chairman of the Board of Special Olympics expressed his appreciation to donors and sponsors for enabling the athletes, who otherwise would have been at a great disadvantage in society had they not had the opportunity to participate in sports. Present to lend their goodwill and support to the athletes were leading actresses Kate Henshaw and Linda Ejiofor who expressed their delight in being at the occasion and called on government and well-meaning individuals to continue supporting Special Olympics.

Charles Yele Akindayomi, Mrs. Bakare Henrietta Ijeoma, Foluso Phillips, Udeme Ufot, John Momoh (OON), Mrs. Adenike Ibirogba and others.
