If you’re tired of using chemicals and processed treatments on your hair, why not use the natural ingredients in your kitchen to make your own hair treatments?

 DIY HAIR

DIY hair products do not require a lot, all you need to do is mix up the ingredients in a bowl and apply to your hair sparingly, then put on a plastic cap and leave. You may apply heat for a deeper conditioning.

1) Avocado Deep Conditioner

  • 1/2 mashed ripe avocado
  • 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 3 drops rosemary essential oil

Benefits:

Avocado: Avocados are high in vitamins B and E, which work at the cellular level to protect and strengthen hair. Vitamin B is essential for hair growth. Vitamin E helps repair damage on the scalp, which may slow or prevent hair growth. The high-fat content of avocados makes hair less dry and prone to breakage.

Olive Oil: Olive oil contains phytochemicals and antioxidants and works great for controlling frizz, strengthens hair and prevents dry scalp.

Rosemary oil: Essential oils such as rosemary stimulate hair follicles and help the hair to grow longer and stronger. The antimicrobial and antiseptic properties of rosemary oil also help to fight bacterial infections, lice and other harmful organisms on the hair and scalp.

2) Coconut oil, banana, and honey Strengthening Conditioner
  • 4 tbsp. of extra virgin coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp. of pure honey
  • ½ Mashed banana

Benefits:

Banana: Bananas are a rich source of potassium, carbohydrates, natural oils, and essential vitamins for healthy hair. The abundance of vitamins found in bananas help repair and protect the hair from sun damage and are vital ingredients for adding volume to the hair.

Pure Honey: Honey contains vitamins, minerals, is antibacterial, acts as a humectant (attracts moisture), and has incredible healing properties.

Coconut oil: Because of its chemical structure coconut oil can actually penetrate the cortex (the inner part of hair) which can help improve its strength and flexibility. It is also an effective treatment for dandruff caused by either hair dryness or fungal or bacteria properties.

3) Eggs, Mayonnaise and Yogurt Repairing Conditioner

  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg

Benefits:

Eggs: Eggs are rich in protein. The protein clings to the hair strand and fills any gaps or breaks, making it look fuller and shinier at the same time. Protein helps to make the hair follicle stronger and stronger strands of hair are less likely to break.

Mayonnaise:  Mayonnaise protects the hair from the heat of the sun, the wind and all of the accumulated chemicals and alcohol from styling products and hairsprays. These tend to dry out the hair and mayonnaise helps repair that damage.

Yogurt: Natural yogurt helps with rapid hair growth. Yogurt has the protein power to strengthen and moisturize your hair, it is high in lactic acid, and has natural antifungal and antibacterial properties. Yogurt also works to stimulate hair growth and fight dandruff by acting as a natural cleanser that tightens and clarifies the pores on your scalp.
