Government may exit $712.46b monthly joint venture funding – The Guardian
Indications emerged yesterday, that from August this year, the Federal Government may hands off from Joint Venture (JV) cash call and allow International Oil Companies (IoCs) to embark on self-funding of oil and gas activities.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) had said in its monthly financial report that 2016 budget requires monthly funding of about $712.46 million to JV cash calls.

EFCC seizes Diezani’s N3.58bn Abuja home – Punch
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has seized a mansion worth N3.58bn ($18m at the official exchange rate of N199 to a dollar) in the Asokoro area of Abuja allegedly belonging to the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The acting Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, said this during an interview with Al-Jazeera, a Qatar-based news network.

Hijab: Religious crisis looms in Osun – Vanguard
As students of public primary and secondary schools in Osun State resume today after June 12 public holiday, there are strong indications that Christians and Muslims in the state are poised for serious showdown over the use of hijab by female Muslim students in public schools. The State Muslim Community had, weekend, urged the Osun State chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria not to throw the state into religious crises but to respect the judgment of the State High Court on the issue.

French policeman’s murder a ‘terror attack’ – CNN
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve says the killing of a French police officer and his partner Monday was “an abject terrorist act.”
The attacker was then killed by a SWAT team in a town northwest of Paris, an official for the French Interior Ministry told reporters.

Orlando shooting: Vigils held around world to honour victims – BBC
A Muslim cleric told those attending the Orlando event that Muslims stood united with them against “the ideology of hatred, death and destruction”.
Similar gatherings have been held in countries including France, Australia, the UK and Germany.
