Travelling can be super overwhelming. The thought of travelling is fun but the process involved can be hectic if you do not plan your time well. I will be travelling in two days and I am currently overwhelmed at the thought of it. This is because not made advances at trying to pack my luggage. Speaking about luggage, a lot of us often make the mistake of over packing when flying. But why do we over pack? Is it due to lack of knowing what to pack? or is it the need to take everything with you? Personally, I usually over pack because I love having options whenever I am away from home. I like to be comfortable wherever I am and love to dress up when I can. However, I am slowly but surely coming to terms with the fact that traveling light is the way forward. This is because when you over pack, you end up either paying for excess luggage of paying to check in a bag if you are flying domestically within states. Why not leave behind a couple clothes and shoes so that you can save a few bucks?

How do you travel light then? Travelling light involves a lot of planning and discipline. In order to travel light, one must plan out every outfit and possible outfits for the days in which they are away. So for example, pack two outfits to wear out to events, pack shirts and pair them with one or two bottoms. Jeans and trousers are generally heavy, so you do not want to pack too many of them. Blue and black denim are usually great paired with a lot of things. I would also recommend packing lightweight dresses that will not take up space in your suitcase (this is if you are travelling to a hot country or place). Another way in which you can save space when packing light is by pairing your shoes with your outfit. Shoes usually take up space; therefore, think about pairing versatile footwear with the clothes that you pack so that you don’t need to take a lot of footwear with you. While I share my travelling light tips with you, I hope I am successfully able to get myself to packing my own luggage. Thank you for stopping by this week and I hope to see you again at my next write up.
