Confusion in UniOsun Over Sack of Principal Officers | THISDAY
Confusion at the weekend enveloped the six campuses of the Osun State University over the purported sack of two principal officers of the university by the institution’s Governing Council which also recommended the sack of the Vice Chancellor to the Visitor, Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
It would be recalled that last week, the Governing Council of the university terminated the appointments of the university Registrar and Bursar, Dr. Julius Faniran and Alhaji Fatai Lasisi respectively over allegation of financial improprieties and mismanagement.
Igbo in Lagos present 7-point demand to Ambode | Vanguard
INDIGENES of the South-east geo-political zone resident in Lagos State, under the aegis of Igbo Progressive Leaders Council, IPLC, yesterday, presented a seven-point demand to the state governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
The association particularly demanded an inclusive government. This was disclosed yesterday in Lagos by the Publicity Secretary of IPLC, Dr. Harris Chuma, at a thanksgiving convened by the association.

Plans by the United States (US) to raise interest rate would further devalue Nigeria’ currency, the naira and mount pressure on foreign reserves, analysts have said. San Francisco Fed President John Williams said on Thursday that the Fed was likely to raise interest rates later this year, adding that he expects above-trend U.S. growth for the rest of 2015 after a weak first quarter.
Responding to questions by reporters in Singapore about the possible timing of a U.S. rate hike, Williams said the subject is “on the table” at every meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee, whether the next one which holds from June 16-17 or later ones.
