A New Dawn for Luxury in Nigeria

The Luxury Network Nigeria

As the world economy faces the biggest economic crisis of modern times, forward-thinking companies must respond to the emergence of the new business environment, by breaking the mould and fully embracing new and innovative strategies.

It has been a tumultuous year for the global luxury industry, and The Luxury Network is repositioning itself to better serve the Nigerian market. The global luxury industry is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and the future of the luxury industry in Nigeria demands a fresh approach, says Cas Ojo (Managing Director, The Luxury Network Nigeria). “The new approach must focus on promoting a consistent and homogeneous luxury narrative across the country, underpinned by conversation and collaboration with established global luxury brands”.

The Luxury Network has a renewed vision to boost the profile of the Nigerian luxury industry, both locally and globally, and are rolling out new membership packages, geared at delivering a robust support package to its Members. The goal is to work with the finest companies in Nigeria and help to set new criteria for the word ‘luxury’ inside Nigeria.
In this regard, The Luxury Network is introducing a world-class Learning and Development program for its members’ leadership teams and employees, specially curated for Nigerian businesses who aspire to an international standard of luxury. Alongside this, there are plans for a plethora of client engagement projects as The Luxury Network aims to raise the bar across the industry, setting a standard of excellence through a well-crafted membership offering.

As part of its commitment to the Nigerian luxury Industry, The Luxury Network Nigeria facilitated an exclusive event in Mayfair, London, in October 2019, in partnership with the Financial Times, to stimulate a new conversation about luxury in Nigeria. The event panel included high-profile individuals such as Mo Abudu, Reni Folawiyo, James Benoit, Bola Atta, Jennifer Obayuwana and Alexander Amosu. Also in attendance were alongside C-level Executives from many of the world’s leading companies, including American Express, Audemar’s Piguet, Fine & Country, London & Capital, Walpole, JP Morgan, Sotheby’s, Backes and Strauss, and many more. They were all keen to engage in discussion about the Nigerian luxury Industry. The Covid pandemic put a brake on other post-event plans throughout last year. However, according to Cas Ojo, “the time is now to engage the luxury players, in a collaborative effort that will raise the standard and perception of luxury in Nigeria, to our home audience and internationally.

At the height of the pandemic, The Luxury Network contributed to the national effort, with a campaign to celebrate Nigeria’s Covid Heroes, led by Samuel Abiola-Jacobs (Director, Operations), and supported by the Mbadiwe twins. Looking ahead into 2021, the company is well-positioned for post-pandemic recovery, with plans already underway for numerous events and activities, business development programs and seminars aimed at facilitating co-operation between the finest brands and luxury companies all across Nigeria and internationally.
