Covenant University in Nigeria recently banned its students from watching the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The school authorities claim that Brazil is known as an immoral country, and that male students would be tempted to sin after seeing the scantily clad women watching matches in the stadiums. The university’s Dean of Students also stated that female students would have inappropriate dreams because of football stars such as Mario Balotelli and Cristiano Ronaldo who often remove their shirts in celebration. Many members of the public heavily criticized the university’s decision. Do you think Covenant University went too far with these rules?
