FACEBOOK BOOSTS WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN LAGOS WITH #SheMeansBusiness INITIATIVE
Facebook launched the #SheMeansBusiness initiative yesterday in Lagos.
It was so inspiring to see how so many African women are building their dreams through the power of technology. Shout out to girl power!
According to Ms. Ebele Okobi, Facebook’s Public Policy Director, Africa, “Facebook designed the #SheMeansBusiness initiative to inspire and train female entrepreneurs across the country to build, grow and start their own businesses”.
In a recent study conducted by Development Economics on behalf of Facebook, it is estimated that businesses set up by women in Nigeria over the next five years (by 2022), hold the key to unlocking N19.7 billion for the economy, with the opportunity of creating a further 8.9 million additional jobs.
The goal of #SheMeansBusiness is to empower women with the right digital skills and training to run and manage a business successfully. Over 4000 Nigerian women will be trained, how cool is this ?
Furthermore, they might be many thousands of years old, making it feel as if you might be brining some civilization in your home.
While never official entrants inside the rat race,
they did lead slightly less unusual lives before convincing a little Italian town at
