Andy Murray Becomes First British Man In 77 Years To Win Mens Wimbledon Finals

Yesterday Scotsman Andy Murray won Wimbledon’s men’s singles finals  after he beat Novak Djokovic in straight sets.

This makes Murray the first British Wimbledon champion since Fred Perry in 1936 (77 years).

Murray in his victory speech said the15,000-strong crowd helped him through some tough battles on the court right up to his victory today. His mother Judy Murray was at the forefront of the supporters in the players’ box with his ever supportive girlfriend Kim Sears.

Prime Minister David Cameron who has a reputation for jinxing British hopefuls at sporting events was also in attendance. Also in the Royal Box were in Victoria Beckham, footballer Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen Rooney, Hollywood heartthrobs Bradley Cooper, Gerard Butler and many more celebrities.
