Techwomen, an initiative of the United States of America’s Department of States Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, is a women empowerment initiative aimed at empowering, connecting and supporting women leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering and Technology (STEM).
This initiative launched in 2011. Since it’s launch, Techwomen has been providing a platform for women and girls to live their dreams and advance in their careers by bringing together women from Africa, South and Central Asia, and the Middle East for a five week intensive programme where they engage in project based mentorship programmes in leading companies in San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon valley.
The application for the 2017 training programme has started, application ends on the 17th January 2017. Techwomen is looking for women who have demonstrated themselves as emerging leaders in their chosen profession, through their work experience, volunteer experience, community activities and education.
