CAN’T SING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM?

Yesterday in the Big Brother House, things got heated up in the Big Brother House. During a Truth or Dare game, Debby Rise dared T Boss to sing the National Anthem. From the sheepish smile on T Boss’ face, it was clear that something was definitely wrong.  After some sharp prodding from the housemates, T Boss started singing, but two lines in, she mixed up the lines of the anthem. Then she covered her mouth and said that she had not sang the National Anthem in years. T Boss was not pleased and she accused Debbie Rise of ‘putting her on the spot’. This led to a bigger argument between T Boss and Debbie Rise when they went into the house. However, this morning, both house mates settled their differences after T Boss apologized to Debbie Rise.

But all is really not well as Nigerians did not take T Boss’ faux pas too well. Social media has been on buzzing since yesterday with #NationalAnthem trending on all platforms. Many Nigerians have said T Boss does not deserve to win the prize money because she is unpatriotic; they say that anyone who is representing Nigeria should at least know how to sing the National Anthem.

Will this incident have any impact on T Boss’ chances of winning the Big Brother prize money?

We will definitely be watching.

PEPSI PULLS CONTROVERSIAL ADVERT

Yesterday, Pepsi made the announcement to pull the controversial add that triggered a severe online backlash for using protest imagery to market the soft drink. The ad in which Kendall Jenner participates in a photo shoot before joining a group of protesters and offering a Pepsi to a stoic police officer, was accused of appropriating the Black Lives Matter movement and using social justice to sell soda.

“Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly, we missed the mark, and we apologize,” the company said in a statement. “We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are removing the content and halting any further rollout.” Pepsi also apologized to Jenner herself for putting her “in this position.”

WOMAN FALLS FROM CALIFORNIA’S HIGHEST BRIDGE WHILE TAKING A SELFIE

You can lose your life and none of that is worth a selfie!” This message, which was posted on a California Sherriff’s Facebook page, is the warning to thrill seeking people who take photographs in dangerous places. The reason for this warning is that a woman fell 60 feet off the Foresthill Bridge on Tuesday. The 730-foot-tall bridge is the highest in California and one of the highest in the United States.

The Sheriff’s Office said the unidentified woman from Sacramento and a group of friends were walking on the bridge’s girders when she “attempted to take a selfie and fell, landing on a trail below.”

The woman had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital. Paul Goncharuk, a friend, told CNN that “she was knocked unconscious, suffered a deep gash to her arm and fractured bones that will require surgery.” “They were taking a picture on the bridge, and then the big bolts that are holding the beams together, she stepped on them kind of weirdly and lost balance and fell backwards,” he added.

The bridge’s off-limits underbelly seems to be a popular, but dangerous spot for social media posting. Police have started patrolling the area after a series of pictures and videos of people dangling from walkways under the bridge.
