#SexForGrades: BBC Africa Eye Uncovers Sexual Harassment in University of Lagos & Ghana (18+)

The concept of #SexforGrades in Nigerian Universities isn’t new. All over Nigeria, hundreds of women & men have recounted their experiences with lecturers and men & women of authority who abused their power. This has led to countless cases of students dropping out of school unexpectedly, rape, harassment and even suicide.

And in light of the recent accusations against the Head Pastor of the Commonwealth Of Zion Assembly (COZA), we see now more than ever that sexual harassment has been a pest eating away at institutions in Nigeria.

However, these cases have been on many occasions swept under the rug and kept in the dark…until now.

BBC Africa Eye has just released a documentary on #SexForGrades shining a light in the shadows of sexual harassment in universities in Lagos, Nigeria and Ghana. They sent journalists undercover to pose as students and uncover just how far and deep the sexual harassment rot has eaten. The journalists can be seen engaging in sexually explicit conversations with the lecturers, one of whom is the Head Pastor of a FourSquare Gospel Church. And the results, as expected as it may seem, will still surprise you!
