Thanks to Elizabeth Anyanacho, Nigeria is on it’s way to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in the Taekwando category.
Elizabeth defeated former champion, Urgence Mouega, at the 65kg women’s bout African qualifiers in Rabat, Morocco and now is now the first female in the category to qualify for the Olympics since the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece. Elizabeth Anyanacho is also the second Nigerian Taekwondo practitioner to qualify for the Olympics.
Unfortunately, the Nigerian Taekwando representative, benjamin Okuomose, failed to receive the Olympic ticket after losing to Anthony Obame in Gabon.
Here’s to bringing home the gold!
