My sister’s husband is epic when it comes to being a Casanova. Here I was minding my own business when I heard wailing at my door from a lady saying she needed to see me. I live close to my sister so her maid routinely drops by mine for the occasional errand. I quite liked her but didn’t notice another male domestic had taken over her role. But going through domestic staff isn’t anything surprising. When I found out who was shouting and it was my sisters maid. She looked way bigger than I last remember and she was disheveled and untidy. What she told me next left me shocked. My sister’s hubby came home tipsy when “madam” was not home and had sex with her a long time ago which led to her being pregnant. She at first didn’t know she was with child but her madam soon discovered her growing bump and she had to confess. I asked her why she came to me and she lamented how my sister and husband made her give the baby up for adoption and she was sent away. She tried begging to keep her child but they wouldn’t let her. She is distraught and wants her child but has no way of going about it.
I thought hard about this scenario. My question is this? Is this right? I don’t know that one can blame a woman for not wanting a thing to do with the child but is this a power play? Shouldn’t the man take responsibility for the child he fathered or this a woman’s way of keeping her home. Had this been a smart Lagos girl, could they have gotten away with this? What do you think?
