Nigerian YouTube has no doubt gained massive popularity over the years. From tech & lifestyle to food & makeup – YouTube has become a breeding ground for potential success & fame. But what does the future hold for this Nigerian YouTube?
In the last episode of NdaniTV Real Talk this season, host Tomike sites with YouTube faves. She chats with the content creator, Dimma Umeh and tech YouTubers Eric Okafor & Fisayo Fosudo. They discuss everything from what to expect when yous start off a new channel to getting paid in the long run.
If you’re an aspiring YouTuber, you definitely want to grab your pen & paper. Class is in session!
Here are some tips we grabbed from the episode;
- You have to pace yourself. Dimma shared how she puts out content 3 times a week with Eric and he screamed lol. So she says you have to definitely pace.
- Don’t put yourself in a box – be open to diversifying your content to reach a wider audience.
- You might not ‘blow’ right away. Eric believes that chances are, because you’re a person of colour, that someone who is caucasian might get more clicks than you.
- Fisayo says “If you want to get paid making videos, you should start making videos you want to get paid for.”
