The humble sofa can be a thing of beauty, but for the unashamedly extravagant amongst us, sometimes a simple sofa just won’t do. When you’re furnishing your home with decadence in mind, thinking outside the box and exploring more exclusive, bespoke options can turn a beautiful home into a truly opulent one. If you’re looking for that perfect extravagant piece, why not let my five favorite items of luxury furniture inspire you?

1. The Chaise Longue

Can you think of an item of furniture more elegant than a chaise longue? Long, curved and designed for coquettishly reclining on during the day, this sumptuous style of seating is practically oozing luxury. What could be more opulent than draping your gorgeous self on one of these effortlessly chic day beds?

If you’d like to include a chaise longue in your interior, there are a number of styles to consider. Classic, contemporary, minimalist, vintage – the look is entirely up to you. Just make sure you insist upon the finest upholstery and the most beautiful materials to create a truly opulent feel.

2. The Four Poster

A bath may not qualify as “furniture”, but there’s no way I could talk about opulence and not mention freestanding baths. The key to a beautiful bathroom is indulgence, and there is nothing more indulgent than a long, hot soak in a decadent bath. A stunning centre point to a truly opulent bathroom.
