GLAZIA has revealed its stunning cover to wrap up the first quarter of 2020. Done in collaboration with Nigerian women’s wear brand, Design For Love (DFL), the edition features Nigerian amazons – Anita Okoye, Latasha Ngwube, Adesuwa Oyenokwe, and Adenike Oyetunde – all looking glorious in DFL prints.
This cover and its stars are part of a special issue to celebrate Women History Month. Every March, Women’s History Month highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society.
Since 2016, Glazia’s March special has been dedicated to everyday women making impact in their own way. This year’s edition is however coming at a time when the world is battling the covid_19 pandemic.
Glazia editor Omawumi Ogbe admits how challenging and exciting it has been to get this special issue ready.
“Every year for the past 4 years, we’ve always done something special to celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month. Granted, March 2020 has been the weirdest WHM ever, at least since I can remember. But I am particularly glad that we were able to do this year’s shoot with Design for Love (DFL) before the lockdown commenced.” She says.Omawumi Ogbe
The cover photoshoot which was done in collaboration with DFL was also to unveil their latest 2020 collection. The collection features feminine, bold and edgy pieces in fabrics such as Ankara, adire and batik.
Wumi Olufeko, Creative Director, DFL
“The collection is a blend of subtle colours for when we just want to enjoy our own space and bold batik prints for when we want the world to see the awesomeness that we as women are.”
Aside from the beautiful photos creatively shot by Remi Apariof Prestaz Creative Studios, the March issue also includes a very fun and insightful interview from the cover ladies, all available for free download at www.glaziang.com/store. What better way to spend self-isolation and lockdown?
