We all want to look our best, and by our “best” we usually mean younger.
Routine skin care and the right use of makeup can be utilised to correct or cover fine line and wrinkles, bags and dark circles, and with the right tricks, turning back the clock can be as easy as opening your makeup bag.
- You would think that powder, being lightweight and non-greasy would be kind to your skin but that is not always the case. Powder can easily embed itself into the fine lines and wrinkles on your face, especially around your eyes. Therefore if looking younger is your priority, it’s best to opt for a tinted moisturizer. This will help even out your skin tone while allowing your skin to shine through. For heavier coverage, opt for a light diffuser or reflective liquid, which is a formula that creates the illusion of a glowing complexion for both old and young skin.
- For an instant face-lift, open up your eyes and use products that will give them a lift. This can be done by curling your eyelashes, wearing false curled lashes, using dark black mascara or adding a little glimmer shadow as a highlighter. Let’s not forget the eyebrows – thick and full brows can take years off your face too.
- If you have dark circles (whether from lack of sleep, heredity, or age) it’s advisable to add a tiny bit of concealer on the inner corners of your eyes or on those spots, not all over the place. When buying concealer, select a shade slightly lighter than your natural skin color.
For a more permanent solution, reach for a corrective cream or lotion. These days, there are entire ranges designed for the over-30s using ground- breaking formulas to reduce the signs of aging.
