What Happened At Level Up! A Speed Mentoring Night For Creatives

The Assembly kicked off the year with a bang hosting some of the most creative and entrepreneurial minds in Nigeria as they shared insights into their journey, as well as some concrete advice for our budding creative community. For those looking to launch their creative projects or some direction in their current endeavors, this was definitely the place to be.

LEVEL UP! married the concepts of speed dating and focus mentoring sessions allowing participants the opportunity to ask industry veterans questions ranging from the very technical on subjects such as gear, and the process of work, to the presentation and how to value one’s craft.

We learnt the value of connecting with people you don’t know, as opposed to the people you do when you’re in an industry-centric setting thanks to Tokini Peterside, founder of Art X Lagos. “Create unique content”, wise words from the very talented Unlimited LA, explaining to the mentees the need to carve a niche as they seek to present their craft to the world. Serial entrepreneur and founder of Grey Velvet, Isioma Onochie-Aihie reminded our attendees of the importance of maintaining a high standard of work that could stand toe to toe with international competition, just some of the knowledge being passed around during the sessions.

The guest mentors and mentees were happy to see the talent and enthusiasm on display, as well as the wealth of knowledge they had the opportunity to tap into respectively. If you missed this opportunity to LEVEL UP, what else can we say other than you really missed out!
