tw magazine celebrates 10th Anniversary with the release of Special Collector’s Edition

On the evening of November 1st 2017, tw magazine celebrated its 10th anniversary at a short and exciting event at Utopia Lagos, an upscale restaurant in the serene part of Victoria Island. To mark the incredible milestone, at that event, a Special Collector’s Edition of tw Magazine which is a compendium of all 88 Editions of the magazine in the past 10 year, was unveiled.

Comedienne and now actress, Chigul, a close friend of the tw family, anchored the event that had a number of incredible women that included past cover subjects. Amongst them were: Kate Henshaw, Dakore Akande, Osayi Alile, Tiyan Alile, Arese Ugwu, Ono Bello, Bunmi Oke, Yewande Zaccheaus, Data Okorodudu, Lola OJ, Nnnena Okoye, Bidemi Zakariyau, Adeola Azeez, Oke Maduewesi, Ndidi Nwuneli, Vivian Oputa and many more inspiring figures.

The pre-event activities kicked off at 4.30pm with red carpet pictures and cocktails courtesy Remy Martin. By 5.15pm, the guests were seated for the main event which Chigul kicked off with rib cracking jokes. To add spice and context, some tw readers shared their journey with tw – Josephine Aigba who is a reader and was a distributor, and Kate Henshaw who had covered the magazine a record 4 times!

Publisher and Editor In Chief, Adesuwa Onyenokwe, recounted the journey of tw Magazine, which she began in 2007 along with four women – Dionne Jemide, Titilola Ijimakinwa, Debbie Ogunjobi and Ndali Ojeikere.

It was also an opportunity to share future plans for, tw Magazine which will be strictly online except for quarterly special editions. Mrs. Onyenokwe pointed that since tw’s goal over the years has been to communicate to women and many women are now active in the digital space, it was a necessary decision to make. But she assured that though the medium of communication was changing, readers can still expect the same inspiring and wholesome content from tw magazine.

Then came the highlight of the night: the reveal of tw’s new cover girl by WIMBIZ members; It was none other than fellow WIMBIZ member: Arese Ugwu, The Smart Money Woman. Arese shared her journey to the cover of tw Magazine and thanked Adesuwa Onyenokwe for giving her an opportunity to share her story.

By past 7pm, the guests treated themselves to a fabulous and delicious buffet. The rest of the evening was filled with dancing, laughter and lots of selfies. And best of all, the event ended at 8.30pm!
