It is no secret that Nigeria is blessed with lots of delicious and healthy meals; however most of these meals have taken a backburner for the regular staples like jollof rice, bread, pounded yam, amala amongst others.

Below we have four undervalued foods and their health benefits.

Rose Pink Apple

The rose pink apple is our very own local apple that has since been passed over for the green apples. It’s funny how we embrace the chemical filled green apple and forgot so much about our sweet delicious local apple.

Water Yam

The water yam was one of our delicacies as children but these days we hardly see it.
